BUSINESS OWNERS ENCOURAGED TO TAKE ECONOMIC IMPACT SURVEY; HEDC TO EVALUATE COVID-19 IMPACT ON HARLINGEN BUSINESS

HARLINGEN, TEXAS (March 25, 2020) – The Harlingen Economic Development Corporation understands that COVID-19 is having a major impact on the business community.

The HEDC team has created the Economic Impact Survey that launched Tuesday, March 24, 2020, and is being shared on the HEDC website and various social media platforms.

The goal of the survey is to better understand how the pandemic has impacted the local economy.

“We are currently evaluating information as we get it and it’s helping guide our decision-making and our policies,” HEDC CEO, Raudel Garza, said.

Garza is also working closely with local and state leaders to identify solutions for the community.

“This survey will help us to determine the impact that this virus is having on our economy. It will help us decide how we can best help through the crisis.”

Garza encourages business owners and management staff to be candid in their responses and adds that the HEDC will possibly be sharing the information gathered with federal, state, or local government officials if the need arises.

“Call us or take the survey online, but we want to hear from our businesses and listen to their concerns and questions. That information will help us get a better idea of how big of an economic impact this has already made in our lives.”

Call the Harlingen Economic Development Corporation and speak with staff about concerns regarding your business and take the survey. Call us at 956-216-5081 or 956-216-5082. If you prefer to do so, the survey is also available online and will take 10-15 minutes of your time. The survey can be taken here: Economic Impact Survey.
