Local Auto Body Shop Owner Grateful to City for HELP for Small Business program

HARLINGEN, TEXAS (June 11, 2020) – Jesse James has been in the auto body shop business since he was a child. His dad owned his own auto body shop and a young James helped around the shop.

“That’s where I learned the trade,” James, The King Collision Masters owner said.

James’ business was affected by the ongoing pandemic and his body shop took a sharp economic dip in recent months.

“We’re struggling but God is good,” James said.

James was told about the HELP for Small Business program offered by the Harlingen EDC and was quick to apply online. James qualified for the loan and was recently awarded money that he said he will use to pay off bills and invest the money back into the business.

“This is my city and we are very grateful that our city is helping us. We have a beautiful city and I love my city: Harlingen, Texas.”

Harlingen EDC board president, Mickey Boland, board member Ricky Leal, and Harlingen EDC CEO, Raudel Garza recently visited James at his shop located at 612 South F Street.

“You take a look outside and what do you see? Small businesses lining the street,” Boland said.

“This loan will help business owners like Mr. James to continue serving Harlingen and the surrounding area.”
