Harlingen, Texas (Dec. 21, 2020) – On Thursday, Dec. 17, the tech-enabled business services company, TaskUs, based out of New Braunfels, Texas held a large hiring event at the Harlingen Community Center. The company provides data and artificial intelligence (AI) operations, content security, digital customer experience (CX), and consulting for innovative brands worldwide.

The company hoped to fill more than 100 jobs on Thursday, with a starting pay of $13 an hour for Customer Service Advisor positions. The company needs to fill 170 seats by February.

TaskUs hopes to have the Harlingen space ready in February or March and this location will be the first in the Rio Grande Valley. For now, teammates hired will begin their journey at TaskUs in the safety and comfort of their homes while the company builds its state-of-the-art workplace in the heart of Harlingen, the company announced in a press release.

“TaskUs is a worldwide company operating in eight states, with 23,000 people working around the world. They have a very impressive client list and for them to come to our community and to offer people employment is a wonderful thing to say that we have a fantastic business partner operating right here in Harlingen, Texas,” Mayor Chris Boswell said at the hiring event.

“It’s so good for our community, our economy, and so good for people who need a job right now.”

According to Shannon Cordes, TaskUs Talent Acquisition director, the company provides employees with extensive training classes held weekly, offers many shifts to choose from, opportunities for growth after 6-months, and full benefits after 30 days, including vacation time.

“Recruitment of large employers is very competitive. Recruiting quality employers who care for their employees and the communities where they locate is even tougher. TaskUs is one of those companies that care for the employees they hire and for the communities where they do business." Raudel Garza, Harlingen EDC CEO, said.

"TaskUs has recognized that this area is well-positioned to provide them with the workforce they need to succeed. We are excited to hear that TaskUs is considering an expansion into our community and Harlingen EDC is ready to help TaskUs with that expansion.
