Small Business Site Improvement and Job Retention Grant

Harlingen Helps is a small business site improvement and job retention program offered by the Harlingen Economic Development Corporation that will provide, in the form of an incentive grant, up to One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500) for site and property improvements; encouraging the retention of jobs for business enterprises in the City of Harlingen to act as a stimulus for economic activity.

The program provides financial assistance for improvements to eligible commercial businesses or property owners for eligible renovation costs that have occurred or will occur from June 1, 2019 through May 31, 2020, subject to the terms of the grant and final approval from the Board of Directors and the City Commission. The program eligibility is discretionary and may be discontinued by the Board of Directors at any time.

Application Checklist:
The Harlingen EDC will begin accepting Harlingen Helps grant applications upon approval of the program by the City Commission.

Items listed below are to be submitted together to the Harlingen EDC for review. Each document is to be numbered and submitted in order per the list below and must include the applicant’s original signature and date. Any documents being prepared on behalf of the applicant must also include an original signature of the person preparing the documents.

Incomplete packages will not be reviewed. All application materials should be submitted to the Harlingen EDC located at 2424 Boxwood St., Suite 125, Harlingen, TX.
