COLLABORATIVE INITIATIVE PROMOTES ENTREPRENERUSHIP TRAINING FOR HARLINGEN RESIDENTS
Harlingen, TX (April 27, 2012) – Four organizations have banded together to support entrepreneurs throughout Harlingen, TX. The Harlingen Economic Development Corporation (HEDC), The Tropical Texas Regional Center of Innovation and Commercialization (TTRCIC), Texas State Technical College (TSTC) and The International Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center (IIEC) at UTB are collaborating to provide Kauffman FastTrac® NewVentureTM training to entrepreneurs in Harlingen.
The HEDC and TTRCIC have allocated funds to provide scholarships to individuals seeking to complete the training. The funding will allow for 100 % scholarships for up to 10 individuals. Scholarships are available for those who qualify.
The IIEC has partnered with TSTC’s Continuing Education Division to provide the training at the University Center located at 2424 Boxwood Street. The IIEC is an affiliate of Kauffman FastTrac® certified to provide the training.
FastTrac® NewVentureTM provides the tools to develop a business concept, determine the viability of the business concept, and outline the critical steps to a successful business launch. The program encompasses 30 hours of facilitated instruction and is broken up into 10 sessions over a period of 10 weeks.
The training is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, June 12, 2012. Registration will run through Monday, June 11, 2012. Space is limited.
