HARLINGEN, TEXAS (May 23, 2019) – The Harlingen Economic Development Corporation’s investment in the University Center at Texas State Technical College continues to produce opportunities for our growing business community. This allows for local business owners to connect to valuable resources, training and education.
Recently, the Community & Economic Development unit at Prairie View A&M University is currently offering business owners a Business in Development (BID) certification program.
The BID program, in coordination with the State Comptroller’s Office, is currently being held every Wednesday through July 10 from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Texas State Technical College University Center, in suite 126.
This free program requires no registration and offers participants seven courses that include business planning and marketing, Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) set up, credit review and more.
“This program is designed to educate and equip our clients with the necessary tools to complete and compete in the State bidding process,” Megan Guerrero, program instructor, said.
Space is limited and upon completion, participants will receive certification by Prairie View A&M University. Registration information here.
