The Harlingen Industrial Foundation, Inc. Presents Development Funds to Mountain Glacier
Harlingen, Texas – February 27, 2015 – Harlingen Industrial Foundation, Inc. Chairman, Mr. Brian Macmanus, presented Mountain Glacier, LLC President Jay Peterson with a development incentive check in the amount of $5,000 on Thursday, February 26, 2015. The money was presented to Mr. Peterson as part of an agreement between the Harlingen Industrial Foundation, Inc. and Mountain Glacier. The terms of the agreement included retention of up to five jobs, creation of new jobs, facility improvements and relocation of equipment to its new location on FM 509 and Progress Drive in the Harlingen Industrial Park.
“Harlingen has been a great partner for our growing water business in the Rio Grande Valley. Harlingen is the perfect central location in which to service the entire region. We have great employees in the Valley,” said Mr. Peterson. Mountain Glacier, headquartered in Evansville, Indiana provides purified water delivery service to the entire Rio Grande Valley. Out of their new Harlingen location, they also distribute Glacier Clear brand bottled water to area retailers. Mr. Macmanus was also pleased with the new operation. “Over $1 million in building improvements and equipment were invested into this site by Mountain Glacier. This is testament to the industrial growth and investment that has transpired in the Harlingen Industrial Park over the last 3 years.”
From coordinating monthly meetings to marketing the available sites in the Harlingen Industrial Park, the Harlingen Economic Development Corporation acts as the administrative arm of the Harlingen Industrial Foundation, Inc. There are approximately 80 acres of land, with utilities, available for development in the Harlingen Industrial Park.
