Valley Baptist Medical Center (VBMC)

Valley Baptist Medical Center is the primary referral hospital for comprehensive and sub-specialty care in South Texas. This 570-bed general hospital and Level II Trauma Center Provides state-of-the-art medical, surgical, obstetric and pediatric care, including newborn and pediatric intensive care, radiology services, a rehabilitation facility, and air ambulance transportation. Valley Baptist is considered one of the best orthopedic hospitals in the State and is one of the leading hospitals in the number of joint replacement surgeries performed annually.

Harlingen Medical Center

The Harlingen Medical Center is a 112-bed general acute care hospital and Level IV Trauma Center owned by Prime Healthcare. The hospital fosters health and represents hope. Through its mission to support the health and wellness of the community, HMC’s dedicated physicians, nurses, and staff provide treatment with comfort and compassion. Services At HMC range from emergency care and internal medicine to Cardiology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and surgical services including Thoracic, Vascular and Endovascular, and Neurosurgery.

HMC received Five-Star ratings in Women’s Surgery, and in Appendectomy, Vascular, Orthopedic and Cardiac procedures.

VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System (VCB)

Serving 20 counties within the Laredo, McAllen, Harlingen and Corpus Christi service areas, the VCB provides secondary and tertiary health care in medicine, surgery, psychiatry, and rehabilitation medicine. It operates a 100-Patient Home-Based Primary Care program and a 200-Patient Care Coordination Home Tele-Health Program.

Su Clinica Familiar

Su Clinica Familia is the primary ambulatory medicine site, a JCAHO-accredited community health center that provides longitudinal care for primarily indigent residents of the Lower Rio Grande Valley. Su Clinica Familiar has convenient on-site radiology, laboratory and pharmacy services.

South Texas Emergency Care Foundation/Valley AirCare

The Foundation is a community-owned, not-for-profit organization governed by a board of directors elected from the community. The Foundation maintains the highest level of patient care and safety and is the only accredited Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems EMS system south of San Antonio. There are only 111 CAMTS accredited programs in the US and Canada.

Valley AirCare Has transported more than 4,900 citizens of South Texas and Northern Mexico since its inception. It is a member of numerous national and state organizations, including the Association of Air Medical Services and Texas AAMS. Service is provided to Cameron, Hidalgo and Willacy counties, as well as the unincorporated areas of other counties in South Texas. Fixed-wing services are provided nationwide and to Mexico and Canada.
