HARLINGEN, TEXAS (February 7, 2024) — The Harlingen Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is thrilled to announce a unique event aimed at providing all the information needed to kickstart a business enterprise in the City of Harlingen.

The inaugural Let's Get Down to Business event, scheduled for March 23, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., will serve as a one-stop-shop informational fair where aspiring entrepreneurs, expanding businesses, commercial real estate brokers and investors can gain a better perspective on the process of successfully launching and operating in Harlingen.

"Building a thriving business community requires collaboration and shared knowledge," says Orlando Campos, CEO of the Harlingen EDC. "Let’s Get Down to Business is designed to be a catalyst for such collaboration, bringing together stakeholders from various sectors to pave the way for successful business ventures."

The event will be held at The Moon Rock Food Truck Park & Bar, located at 1811 W. Jefferson Avenue in Harlingen, and feature various city departments, including Planning and Zoning, Building Inspections, Sign Permitting, Fire Prevention and more. Organizations with information on business advisement, small business loans and staffing will also be present.

Upon arrival, visitors are encouraged to explore each group’s table to collect valuable insights and ask questions from the representatives at hand. They will also have the chance to enter a raffle for prizes, with winners selected at various intervals during the event.

"The raffles add an element of fun and engagement to our event," says Jane Lozano, Harlingen EDC’s Business Retention and Expansion Manager. "We want attendees to not only gather crucial information but to also enjoy the experience in a relaxed and interactive setting.”

Food trucks will be operational to encourage participants to explore the diverse culinary offerings while networking with fellow entrepreneurs.

“We want to make it known that Harlingen is open for business, and we are here to help ensure success.”
