HARLINGEN, TEXAS (June 12, 2023) - The Harlingen Economic Development Corporation (HEDC) was a proud sponsor and participant in this year’s RGV2DC advocacy trip organized by the Rio Grande Valley Partnership (RGV Partnership). This initiative aims to unify business leaders, elected officials, and community stakeholders from across the Rio Grande Valley of Texas to represent and advocate for the region’s interests at a national level in Washington, D.C.

HEDC Interim Manager and CEO Beverly Ticer Loftus made the trip to Washington, D.C., alongside Board President Javier De Leon and Board Member Eric Ziehe. While there, they supported the RGV Partnership's efforts to collaborate with federal officials and advocate for policies and resources that will enhance the progress and prosperity of the community.

“We have an exceptional group of leaders constantly advocating on our region’s behalf,” said Beverly Ticer Loftus. “The HEDC was honored to collaborate with them during this trip, and we’re very hopeful for what’s to come.”

Specific objectives the RGV Partnership aims to accomplish through RGV2DC include driving economic growth, enhancing infrastructure and empowering education and workforce development. They also set out to address border-related challenges and bolster healthcare and social services in the region.
