Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux to open its doors in Harlingen
HARLINGEN, TEXAS (JUNE 15, 2023) – The Harlingen Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is pleased to announce that Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux is opening its newest location in Cameron Crossing near Bass Pro Shop. The restaurant will open its doors to the public in about one year and offer a unique dining experience that combines the best of sports, food, and entertainment.
Walk-On's will create over 50 jobs and generate approximately $1 million in local sales tax dollars for the city over the next 10 years.
“We are proud and excited to support Walk-On’s in its expansion to Harlingen,” said Javier De Leon, Harlingen EDC Board President. “This project will bring new jobs and economic activity to our community, and we’re confident that Walk-On’s will be a great addition to our local restaurant scene.”
Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux was founded in 2003 by Brandon Landry and Jack Warner, who were former college basketball players at Louisiana State University. They started the restaurant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with the goal of creating a place where sports fans could come together to watch games while enjoying great food and drinks. Today, Walk-On’s has become one of the fastest-growing sports bar franchises in the country, with more than 50 locations across 15 states.
“The Harlingen EDC is committed to supporting job creation and economic growth in Harlingen,” said Beverly Ticer Loftus, Interim HEDC CEO and Manager. “We’re excited to partner with Walk-On’s and look forward to the positive impact this project will have on Harlingen.”
